Babytime part deux. (Or trois if you’re Audrey and Jason) |
O.K., so I'm cross posting this in the blog and news section but is anybody gonna call the internet style police on me for this? We are so excited to announce that the newest member of the LRB team arrived on Friday. Damon Eric Gammon joined the Gammon family at 9:05 p.m. on June 19th and tipped the scales at 10 pounds 6 ounces and 22 1/2" According to his mom and dad he is the most amazingest baby in the universe! LRB high-fives and chest bumps to Audrey and Jason. (Well, maybe chest bumps just to Jason.)

The Muhsin Muhammad Foundation for Kids hosted “M2009” last night at the grand opening of the Big View Diner in Ballantyne. We’ve all been to at least a few of these types of events, and although we’re biased because we’ve been working with this fabulous group of people, something special was going on here.
First of all, it wasn’t only about raising money - sure there were lots of opportunities to donate to this worthwhile charity; a live auction, a raffle, and a silent auction were part of the event, but they actually wanted to say thanks to their sponsors and volunteers, and did so in a big way. This felt like a big family gathering with great food and milkshakes, music and fun, lots of hugs, and lots of laughter. Muhsin and Christa Muhammad, and foundation director Nicole Holtz were generous and welcoming hosts, making everyone feel like they were a part of the larger family caring for the special kids that M2 mentors. The supportive, enriching environment they provide the boys in the M2 program certainly existed last night.

“That’s not an award, it’s a weapon!!” |
Yes, folks, that honkin’ big Best in Show Print award can almost be seen with Google earth. And that’s as it should be, the competition for the third District regional ADDY’s was fierce and when the judges got together, there was only one agency deemed worthy of Best in Show print honors and a gold ADDY to boot. Props to DJ Lil’ Jason for killer design and art direction, Katie ‘Goldmine’ Fisher and Silverback Randle for writing assistance, and of course whip-cracking by Karen ‘Nacho Mama’ Benetts. It would not have been possible without Sara Rubens from Boats for Goats who believes in the power of creativity to produce results and stand out from the crowd. It was an honor just being nominated but it was freaking awesome to win.

Just a few short months ago a plan was hatched to launch a new advertising and brand development company called Little Red Bird. Friends and loved ones shouted, “Are you crazy or just stupid??!!” Perhaps both, but when you have an itch, you’ve got to scratch, and that’s just what we did. So now, six months and many trips to IKEA later, our doors are open and we’re ready for business. Just in time for the recession. Gotta love that timing.
